Checkout Shield for WooCommerce

Your CAPTCHA protects the form. This protects the API. Most store owners don't realize the attacks aren't even hitting their checkout page.

Checkout Shield FAQ and Pre-Sales Compatibility

These answers cover common pre-sales and compatibility questions for Checkout Shield for WooCommerce.

Does Checkout Shield replace CAPTCHA?

Checkout Shield protects checkout without asking customers to solve a visible challenge. Some stores may still keep CAPTCHA on account or contact forms, but checkout protection does not require it.

Does it work with payment gateways?

Checkout Shield is designed for WooCommerce checkout flows, but every payment gateway should be tested after enabling protection, especially gateways that redirect off site and return to WooCommerce.

Does it support Checkout Blocks?

Yes. Checkout Shield supports both classic checkout and WooCommerce Checkout Blocks. Test your active theme, gateway, and cache configuration before switching to Strict mode.

Will it slow down checkout?

The checks run during checkout validation and are designed to be lightweight. Logging everything can create more data than blocks-only logging, so use verbose logging only while debugging.

What is in the free version?

Almost the full plugin is free, including checkout protection across classic and Checkout Blocks, the four protection modes (Learning, Permissive, Balanced, Strict), proxy header support, the IP whitelist with CIDR notation, and API keys for headless or custom checkout integrations.

What is in Pro?

Pro adds the fraud prevention blocklist (email, name, address, phone, IP, and postal code rules), upgrades proxy support from a simple checkbox to a three-mode dropdown (Auto-detect, Always On, Off), and adds log level controls.
