Wizard mode presents option groups as steps. It works well for products with several dependent choices, where seeing everything at once would overwhelm the customer.

Enable the wizard

In the product’s Product Builder settings, turn on Step-by-Step Wizard. Each option group becomes its own step, in the order they appear in the Option Groups list.

• Progress style — Dots (minimal), Numbers (clear ordinal progress) or Progress bar (percentage feel). Pick the style that matches the visual tone of the rest of the page.
• Free navigation — when on, customers can jump to any step at any time. When off, they advance sequentially and can’t skip ahead until the current step’s required field is set.
• Show step titles — renders the group name as a heading inside each step.
• Show review step — adds a final read-only step that lists every selection and the total before Add to Cart.

How the wizard interacts with conditions

Steps that are hidden by conditional logic are skipped entirely — they don’t appear in the progress indicator and don’t block validation. The progress indicator counts only the currently visible steps.

Mobile behavior

On narrow viewports the wizard collapses to a single-step view with a sticky Continue button. Step titles wrap rather than truncate so the customer always knows what step they’re on.

When not to use it

For products with one or two choices, a standard layout is usually faster — a wizard adds clicks without clarity. Reserve wizard mode for kits, multi-stage configurators and made-to-order products.
